Good evening friends!
After one of the biggest thunderstorms San Jose has seen in over 10 years the morning brought us beautiful blue skies and sunshine!
We kept today an open day to just get settled in, pick up our car rental and rest up. The boys didn't get out of bed until after 9:00 allowing Bob and I to have a lovely breakfast out by the pool and hash out some of the details for the next couple of days.
Ken Miller has been an incredible help in planning our trip, and stopped by this morning to give us a few more valuable tips.
A visit to the local super market.
The Taxi driver talked non stop Spanish the whole time, making lots of hand motions and plenty of horn honking while swerving pedestrians and narrowly missing other cars. I understood very little but while driving through a particular run down area I caught "muy peligroso" while slashing his hand though his neck and "bang" with finger gun to head- I'm thinking thats an area we may want to avoid.
We were dropped off by Plaza de la Cultura and ventured down the boulevard getting a good look at San Jose in action.
We ended up at a small little soda for supper.
The fresh squeezed fruit juices were delicious, everything else- not so much.
After an even wilder taxi ride home, we were happy to stay in our cozy little room for the rest of the evening with some hot chocolate, tres leches cake and "The Rookie". Hopefully everyone will sleep well tonight, tomorrow is going to be a full day!
If you think of us tomorrow please pray for safety- we will be driving on some narrow roads
with a lot of crazy drivers!
Buenes Noches!
Praying for safety and big, big, big adventure all over tomorrow! :-)
