I wouldn't have minded having one more day in the Monteverde area to explore the actual park and hike more of the hanging bridges but it´s all good and we´re moving on...
The drive to Manuel Antonio started off on a dirt road through some really charming little villages and beautiful scenery! I love the way they use every bit of land for growing things, it doesn´t matter how steep the mountain- they use it, and the green, oh the green!!!
We spotted a few monkeys and some cool looking birds but the highlight was the bridge with all the alligators sun bathing right under us! pretty amazing to be so close to those big beasts in the wild. I wouldn´t have wanted to be one inch closer!
We are staying at Manuel Antonio Estates in a little 2 bedroom apartment with our own little kitchen and a decent size living area, I was a little worried about this spot after making the reservations online but it turned out to be better than I had expected and to top it off we were welcomed by a troop of monkeys! We have our own little balcony to sit on and watch them play.
The first evening we went into town for supper and had our best meal yet- authentic Italian brick oven pizza!
We were also in one of the biggest down pours I have ever witnessed! Wading through the streets was a highlight for the kids- I´ll admit I thought it was pretty cool too.
The next couple of days we spent getting to know the area a bit, and settling in- we stocked our cupboards with groceries, hit a few of the local beaches, did laundry, watched for monkeys and just chilled. This is my favorite spot for sure, everything a vacation should be :]
I think I could get used to this pace of life:]
Pura vida friends!
Micah and Zach will fill you in on our Fishing trip.
